Anyone have idea to improve the dynamic response of pre existing magnetically controllable reactor?

I have a problem due to the slow response of MCR because of Hysteresis loop, I want to get variable reactance for this, at the point of saturation I get a minimum reactance but if I want to increase the reactance the flux path will be different due hysteresis effect, is there any way to apply SMC on this because previously PID is implemented or is there any predictive approach applied to it?
