As I read, HAP has osteoconductivity where it can initiate bone growth to form mechanical bonding with the surrounding tissues. About osteoinductivity, it has something to do with the protein, osteoblasts etc. However, I still unable to capture what is going on deeply.
HAP is osteoconductive as it is present in native bone. for the perparation of HAP some may use polymers, surfactants are biomolecules as growth factor agents. when biomolecles are used then these HAP will act as osteoinductive by providing effective supplement of biomolecules.

In my literature review, I attempt to write what is so good about HAP. other than able to promote bone growth (osteoconduction), Ca/p =1.67, most similiar mineralogy compared to bone, able to mimic bone structure by inducing porosity and pore size, I find the characteristics of HAP in terms of osteoconductive, osteoinductive and osteointegration is very important as the reason why I choose HAP. Up to date, osteoinductive of HAP in terms of coating is explained in some papers.
Furthermore, I need not to go up to these deep as it goes to the biological side of HAP,but as to add some knowledge for this, I think I need to know.
not MSC biomolecules likes BSA,HSA, Methionine, glycine (proteins present in the body which helps for bone growth)
MSC are the cells which is used to check the osteoconductive property of the material
HAP is osteoconductive in nature. However, some of studies reported that HAP may show osteoinductivity. They suggested that optimal bio-degradation and additional submicon- or nano-scale porous structure in osteoconductive HAP obtained by surface modification shows osteoinductive bone formation (i.e. ectopic bone forming ability) by increasing concentration of growth factors (such as bone morphogenetic proteins) that supplied by local circulation onto the porous surface or into the inner pores of surface modified HAP. Thus, some of studies reporting osteoinductivity of HAP seems to be attributable to Increased local concentration of growth factors due to increased surface area of porous structure of surface modified HAP. However, it's general opinion that HAP is not osteoinductive.
i have read about it @jin-Woo Park. HAP itself has poor osteoinductivity. and Porosity improves the osteoinduction.
