I found difficulties to decide which approach or equation should be used to determine the error value of crystallite size and lattice parameter that are calculated by using Scherrer's equation and Diffraction equation. Some of my colleagues using standard deviation method and other using partial differential method by considering the standard deviation value of diffraction angle that resulted from Origin analysis.
From my experience Scherrer equation is more estimation method rather than actual precise calculation, e.g. you have k-factor in Scherrer equation which is defined as "close to unity" and that itself give you huge uncertainty. I am quite sure that standard deviation will give you underestimated values of uncertainty. Basically, it is quite pointless to discuss uncertainty of results of Scherrer calculations itself as it is only an estimation.

Some researchers calculate crystal size from various peak of a similar phase. There you can comment on the estimation of crysatl sizes obtained from various peak. Yo can also define a range through that. For a better estimation you can also use William Hallson Method.
