The microstructure of hot rolled and continuous annealed steel shows ferrite and acicular ferrite constituents. Is there any technique which can quantify both the phases accurately. Please share if there is any relevant literature.
I understand, some easy way to quantify the phases present by doing image analysis...but, careful attention should be provided to separate each phases... I hope you could be in a position to distinguish from ferrite to acicular ferrite......
@ Thomas: Crystal structure of acicular ferrite and polygonal ferrite are same. I think XRD is not right technique in quantifying acicular ferrite in this case.
