Case - Three scales of six items each: A1...A6; B1...B6; C1...C6. Corrected item-total correlations was poor, say around .12 for item No. B5 and C1 when there were 230 responses. With 433 responses, two more items i.e. B1 and C2 besides B5 and C1 showed poor corrected item-total-correlations. Obviously, results of analyses with more participants will receive greater weight. Alpha reliability drops down with exclusion of 4 items in comparison to 2 items.
Any suggestion regarding dropping of items and reporting of the results.
