Hi there. What method can I employ if I want to deprotec a Boc-protected secondary amine without using acid? or simply put some mild conditions for Boc deprotection without acid reagents.
TFA is mild acid for the deprotection of Boc.
if you don't want to use TFA as you mentioned. try the attached file method.
Best of Luck
You can try with Imidazole in presence of Cs2CO3 in Acetonitrile as solvent for Boc deprotection.

The BOC group can be removed thermally, either neat (185 ºC, 20-30 min) (J. Org. Chem. 1987, 51, 19) or in diphenyl ether (TL 1982, 23, 465).
Deprotection of Boc by using water under reflux condition (100 ºC, 12 min ) to achieved your desired product.
This paper has reported iodine-mediated N-Boc deprotection.......http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/916960

As I can observe from various papers, what can be the possible reason why NONOates are synthesized with very low temperature conditions? Is it because the multi-nitrogen species can react violently?
