Publish a scientific paper is a very complex task. Recently, because of a lot of journals known as “Predatory Journals”, it is even more complex and stressful. Among the several reasons that contribute to the predatory journals problem, the price of the article processing charge (APC) or the publication fee is one of the most relevant, especially in countries or institutions where budget is quite limited. However, there are several reliable (non-predatory) scientific or academic journals that, because of their nature or policy, are free of APC. Even, some of these also offer an Open Access possibility.
My invitation is to publish here any suggestion of journal names that you know are free of APC and are indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science. For instance, the “Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture” has no APC, offers Open Access and is indexed by Scopus and WoS (ISI). In Scopus, the CiteScore is 1.09, and the impact factor is 0.921. I think that this information could be very useful for many researchers.
If the list is big enough, I’d like to make the table and publish it elsewhere (i.e., a public wiki webpage) for reference purposes.
On the other hand, if you know about a list of these kinds of journals, please, let me know.
