You can use LB only replace it with a vitamin solution in place of yeast extract. Do not add any amino acids.

What you may do is to culture the cell in rich media, harvest the cell at the given density/time and then resuspend them in PBS prior FA treatment.

Unfortunately, due to experimental constraints I cannot harvest and resuspend cells in PBS, I really have to cross-link cells in culture.
