Hi,

it´s quite common to genotype similar mouse strains by common PCR. What you need to know is whether there is some Atb resistance or other inserted sequence such as LoxP  or some reporter gene  (eg. GFP, TOMATO, or LacZ). If so, than you can easily design primers specific to this region, or get some already used by others and run standard PCR reaction.

All 3 primers go in one PCR reaction and they give 3 type of bands. Lower band for homozygotic, double bands for het and the upper band for WT.
