When you will do this job, atleast gather research papers from last two decades. when you will assemble and complete the literature review as a systemmatic literature review, you will get a research gap by yourself with the validity of earlier researches.
Change the setting while searching for paper. First, just look for recent papers in your field and then start looking for paper having the highest citations in your area. in that way, you can find the gap in the study.
COVID.19 gave numerous opportunists to business and social researchers in determining their topics. For instance, think about how internationalization affected by COVID.19, what happened to imports and imports, what strategies top managers used for internationalization, what were the barriers during COVID.19? and so on. I hope the suggestions will help you in extracting an idea.

I would start by searching for existing (systematic) literature reviews on international business or a subdomain. Such reviews usually point out research gaps at the end. Pick two or three of those which are of interest to you and dig deeper to find your niche.
A good research area. Suggest refining by identifying a research problem. What about international business and the changing environment is a problem to be addressed? Once the problem is identified (as anchored in the literature), then identify what the gap is in the literature that justifies the need for further research. Together, these will help narrow and focus the research topic, then drive the purpose, research questions, and ultimately, the research design.
