From the breeding period of spiders up to the full growth of the offsprings, do you have any idea what would be the approximate duration of the entire process? Specifically, those spiders belonging to the Araneidae family.
Actually it depends on species and the environmental temperature at your animal facility. In Sicariids, like Loxosceles sp, the entire process can last one year, which is the time to maturity. Here is the link to a good article that can be useful, unfortunately it is in spanish: http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0716-10182014000500007
A colleague, Michel Dugon, has more experience with spider rearing and care than anyone I know. His laboratory in the UK is just getting underway, but he would be more than happy to talk to you about specific questions, or perhaps help you trouble shoot working with the arachnids. You can find his contact information here: https://www.facebook.com/Dugon-Lab-961419394004193/?pnref=story
diagram of tank to rear spiders inMoisture is a more critical factor for the survival of spiders in captivity. One of the ways to keep the container moist without drowning the spider is to place a small potted plant inside the cage; another way is to place a ball of cotton wool or a folded filter/toilet paper which can be wetted with a few drops of water every day.
