I am currently researching modern solutions for building data centers. I have noticed some very interesting approaches where data centers are integrated into microgrids that can operate in island mode. Various configurations exist: working exclusively within a microgrid, operating in parallel with the main grid, or using the grid as a backup power source.
In addition, there are proposals to integrate small-scale data centers into distribution networks with distributed generation sources. Based on this, I am very interested in exploring real examples, modeling them in simulation software, and developing different operating scenarios and modes. Ideally, I would also like to see how relay protection is implemented in such systems.
