Foam is a dispersed system with a gas dispersed phase and a liquid or solid dispersion medium. According to the definition, you can change different gases: air, nitrogen, argon ... You can change the liquid dispersion medium: water, alcohol, decane ... You can change the solid dispersion medium: composite material, polymer, nickel ...

If you need a solid medium, there are several production of FEF (Flexible Elastomeric Foam).

One typical, in which I have experience is NBR+PVC or EPDM used for thermal insulation. These type of rubber have inside a lot of filler (typically ATH, so hydroxide, but also oxide).
