Dear colleagues! Could you recommend any books or articles with precise data on the amount of capital accumulated by large merchants and bankers in Mughal and post-Mughal India and also Muscovy and early imperial Russia, i.e. the 17th and 18th centuries? I mean the figures of merchants' fortunes etc. I write a comparative article on the industrialization in the Russian Empire and British India and among others things would like to compare the initial strength of the indigenous capital (which in the 19th century was to be invested in factories).
Dear colleague: perhaps the biography of Peter I by Robert K. Massie could have some interesting data.
Another interesting approach could be the bibliography about the Muscovy fur trade company established in London during the Early Modern Age.

As to India, the trouble is that in books on the East India Company (my first specialization) there is too little data on Asian capital.
