Lean manufacturing is an approach that focuses on reducing waste in production processes while increasing productivity. Waste is defined as everything customers do not feel adds value to their lives and are unwilling to pay for.
Lean manufacturing can be understood as an integrated manufacturing system aiming to maximize industry utilization capacity and minimize the level of inventory that can become overloaded.

Please see below two papers I published last year one is around Lean Systems and tools utilisation i.e. The different system and tools, engagement, communication and recognition. The other paper is about the utilisation of digital Lean (Production Systems) training. These are in the automotive industry but no doubt the concepts will apply to SME's in the plastic industry in terms of the production systems used, training methods and ways of engaging the work force.

Thank you for your sharing, the papers were very useful and showed how digitalization can support on Lean implementation.
I am also interest on how utilization of digitalization tools such as MES, ERP, IOT can help to accelerate the performance of Lean in workplace especially in the area of inventory control, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), overproduction and lead time reduction.
