I am looking for environmental articles that mainly studied using TPB model without "intention" in it. Are there any articles that related to my findings? or even not environmental base? If yes, do please share with me.
What do you want to investigate? I don't think that you will find any article without the "intention" variable. The theory of planned behavior explaines the formation of individual intention (and in turn behavior) based on its three determinants - namley: attitude towards the behavior, subjective norm and PBC. Focusing only on the three determinants (without investigating the effects on intention) would not make any sense at all. Best wishes, Laura
Thank you so much for the answer. Yes your point is valid since intention ought to be a strong predictor for behavior. But there are some studies skipped intention to avoid intention- behavior gap and focused on the direct relationship.
You may refer to article:
Tudor, T. L., Barr, S. W., & Gilg, A. W. (2006). Linking intended behavior and actions: a case study of healthcare waste management in the Cornwall NHS. Resource, Conservation and Recycling, 51, 1-23.
The very notion of planning involves intention. What is a plan if not an intention to bring about an outcome in a certain way? But you can indeed study an input-output relationship that makes no reference to an intentional intermediary (as in classical stimulus-response behaviorism, which makes no reference to intention at all). However, how are you going to characterize your input? Can you do it without smuggling in an intentional notion? The very title of the article, which you suggest skipped intention to avoid the intention-behavior gap and focus on the direct relationships, indicates otherwise, namely: [intended behavior] ---linking--> [action]. Sure, the nature of the linking can be ignored and you can focus on the direct relationship, but you've still got intention as a feature of the input.
