1- What is the angle of load distribution in steel and concrete according to Eurocodes, please? Usually, we use it like 45 degrees in concrete but I saw some people use it between 30-60 degrees! Is there any reference to this?
2- What is that angle in steel. Is it the same or not?
3- What about the tension and compression?

The angle of load distribution depends on the stress-strain state of the structure, i.e it depends on the value and direction on the principal stresses. The angle of the punching crack according to Eurocode 2 equals to 26,6 degrees (arctan(1/2)). In some national codes this value equals to 45 degees ( for instance in Russian codes). These values were accepted for simplicity and are appropriate for rough evaluation. This fixed values was established because the real value represents a very complex function, especially in concrete. You can find more accurate values in technical reports and articles (for example, the distribution in reinforced concrete slabs, subjected to punching shear well described here: CEB-FIB. Bulletin 12. Punching of structural concrtete slabs).
Would you do a bending beam calculation first on the beam your using .
Apply it to that beam .
And compare it then to the correct eurocode..??🤔🤔??
Mark Runnalls This is not the point. If you have a plate/beam and applied tension/compression at a point, what is the loading distribution angle inside that plate/beam accepted in EU codes for example?
A picture is attached for more clarification. If the loading distribution angle under foundations (in Soil) is 45 degrees then it should be something different in concrete and steel, The question is, what is the safe value?
