Psychologists often used the terms "feelings" and "emotions" in an interchangeable way. Emotions and feelings, however, are different (kinds of sentiments).
There is an author that elaborates deeply on the difference between emotions and feelings, Antonio Damasio. The feeling of what happens, for example, is one of his books you can ready to have ground ideas about the clarifications you are asking for.
As I see it, it is good to ask for clarifications of meaning. Epistemologist John Laudan once remarked that science only progresses through clarification of meaning of key concepts we use in our empirical research or theoretical writing.
I also need to learn from this discussion. My opinion is that emotion and sentiment are two different affect states...do we have any specific theory to explain this? thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Rwgards.
If we are able to express our emotions or feelings verbally or non verbally, surely they can be analyzed by a computer. Sentiment analysis is a developing field.
