You know, of course, it's a British dish. We won't hold it against you. Try some fish and chips, or potted shrimp, or jellied eels, or pork pie, or dripping on toast, or....
You'll find something you like eventually. Or not!
Well, I'm not sure we need to appropriate what is already ours? A Canadian colleague did once suggest, however, that the Empire was forged by the British going out searching for some decent food. Perhaps we failed in the task?
I have heard that there is a theory that it is impossible for members of certain groups to be racists. Not sure if this theory is correct. If correct, how do I find out if I am a member of such a group? Please let me know ASAP so that I can check whether I belong to such a group or not.
I'm not sure about the tikka itself, but think the eaters do not fit a particular group. Unless, of course, "Chicken Tikka Masala Eaters" qualify as such a group? It's not my area of expertise, I'm afraid.
I like tikka masala, but it has nothing to do with racism. No one is to discuss other person's tastes and preferences. What would the world look like if we all loved or hated anything???
I can write the statement in a different way. Suppose I say that French food is the best in the world. With this statement, would I qualify as a white (?) supremacist, or merely a French supremacist? Or simply as a French nationalist?
If I claimed that Ethiopian food is the best in the world, then is it okay? Because I am not sure it is possible to be an Ethiopian supremacist. And it would be incorrect to call me an African supremacist, I think, from a logical point of view. That accusation would be overly generous. Perhaps one could be an Ethiopian nationalist.
And horror of horrors. Imagine I said that I really did not care for classical German music. What label would I qualify for?
Well, it's simply a fact that French food is the best in the world. A culture infused with great cooks by the revolution's destruction of the acien regime, sending chefs and cooks out to fend for themselves, opening restaurants and bistros all over the place!
After that? It's said, Chinese then Moroccan. There's a wonderful Moroccan bistrot in a side street in Lille in France. Just up the road from Aux Moules, a local watering hole.
Ethiopian? I had a good steak and eggs at the safari lodge in Nazereth well south of Addis. Other than that, we stuck to Italian at the big posh hotel in Addis. Now that was empire food! Possibly the only decent work of Mussolini's short lived African adventure.
A disdain for German classical music is regarded as good taste in my country. It may even have contributed to Brexit?
