Enzymatic methods have build-in amplification, as each enzyme molecule turns over many, many substrate molecules. Enzymatic tests are also very quick, no long incubations with antibodies and washing steps are required. The reagents are cheap, much cheaper than antibodies. Last but not least, enzymatic tests require functional enzyme molecules, not immunogenic fragments or the like.
