Are these awards fake or real?
I submitted my credentials for nomination of the Global Faculty Award after checking their eligibility criterion, but once every step was completed and they finally announced through mail that I have been selected to get the award and I was asked to pay a sum of Rs.11800/- as participation fee.
So I feel if its an award it shouldn't be chargeable else it means we are buying an award.
Wanted to share and know your views on the same and how these things operate.
Most of the awarding institutions mention their accreditations in homepage. If you could not find any sort of registrations like that, you can search for internationally or nationally accredited awards list. Hope it helps.
The intention of the such type of award is commercialisation and not service, that is, to sell awards to the award-hungry. It is a scam that has been going on for many years. Having known the potential of the market for the award-selling business and having witnessed the hunger of those award maniacs in the field of education, a growing number of organisations/groups are sending emails to teachers and educational institutions now and then to lure them.
