I think AI Literacy is one of the skills that is on the rise in business development. When I first heard about AI I had the emotional reaction of awe and fear. However, after doing a bit of personal research I started seeing AI as a great way to enhance my research and data analysis. AI could be used as a research tool much like any statistical software.

To improve my AI literacy, I focused on understanding AI concepts, learning the basics, exploring its applications, and tried developing critical thinking skills to evaluate AI systems and tools ethically and effectively. I first started with the Google's AI overview in its search engine to find out how AI works in Google search engines, then I tried to use ChatGPT, I used it to write essays and even poems for me using AI, and I was really impressed. These are very basic AI softwares which everyone can use in their day-to-day lives.

Why is AI literacy so significant in Business Development?

AI can automate repetitive tasks, analyze vast amounts of data, and optimize business processes, freeing up employees to focus on more strategic and creative work that are more suited to human ingenuity.

AI-powered analytics can help businesses identify patterns, predict future outcomes, and make more informed decisions based on past data and information.

✅ Better Customer Experiences:

AI can personalize customer interactions, improve customer service, and provide tailored experiences by analyzing vast amounts of past customer data through CRM software and data.

✅ Increased Innovation and Competitiveness:

Businesses that embrace AI are better positioned to innovate, develop new products and services, and stay ahead of the competition by facilitating data-driven decisions, and accelerating innovation through tools like generative AI and predictive analytics.

Thus, I think AI should be seen as a tool to augment human capabilities in business development just like any statistical software but it can never replace human ingenuity, intellect and human perceptions which AI would never be able to replicate. I think in the next five years AI would emerge as a research and statistical analysis tool while not replacing human ingenuity and creativity.
