If pressures are normal, indeed you can call it a day. However, this is quite rare in the young patients in whom a conservative RVOT enlargment policy is conducted. It is not rare to see high RV pressures at the end of the procedure and in that case, TEE can be helpfull to discriminate between a fixed and a dynamic residual obstruction/ or a more distal obstruction in the proximal PA and bifurcation.
No more RV pressure measurement is needed, TEE is a must in every case of repaired TOF. for the following: RV pressure , Gradient, where the gradient , what is causing gradient, VSD patch leak, LVOT, TV function, LV function, Branch PA morphology.
More importantly this is the tool for evaluation after surgery, so why not during surgery
