Please help me. Suppose I am making ZnO nanoparticle. I used ZnSO4 salt and NaOH as reducing agent. Finally I got precipitation. Usually I need to centrifuge, wash and dry to get ZnO nanoparticle. But my question is- without drying, what is inside the precipitation after wash? Can I use this as nanoparticle?

Dear Md. Zaved Hossain Khan , your precipitate after wash is basically Zinc Hydroxide, which is soluble in excess NaOH. For being termed as particle, it should be in solid form with some dimension. So drying is must atleast above 100 C to decompose Zinc Hydroxide to Zinc Oxide, ZnO particles. Now, depending on dimension it may be (100 nm) be nano particles. Наночастицы можно сформировать и в ходе осаждения. При реакции образования гидроокиси цинка чаще всего получается рыхлый аморфный осадок. Возможно Вы придумали, как сделать осадок в виде наночастиц. Но сохранение этих частиц гораздо более сложная задача, так как седиментат склонен к аггрегатированию (агломерации, слипанию). Для получения наноматериала частицы должны быть стабилизированы как механически (прочность внетренней структуры), так физически как частицы с защитой от слипания. Последняя задача пожалуй посложнее первой.

Actually I have dried accordingly and got 50nm size with the procedure. Later, I need to mix the ZnO nanoparticle with water for application, that means after water mixing it will be ZnOH again, right? So, why dont I directly use the washed precipitation? Same procedure I can prepare Fe, Cu nanoparticles. So, please suggest me- can I get the effect of nanoparticles of the said washed solution instead drying? Because if I dried and make powder and try to dissolve in water for application, its never dissolved. But the washed suspension looks better for my application. Suggest me please.

Dear Md. Zaved Hossain Khan, ZnO and other transition metal oxides you mentioned have little or no solubility in water at room temperature i.e. it will not form hydroxide. If you are using washed precipitate, that will not be correctly termed as nano effect...
