African Nations are now in poority and political conflicts adding to corrupted lows imposed by corrupted governers, these arguments and other impact significantly the development of relevant projects in science and technology.

But we observe several trials by organizations and persons which prove an existing intentions to build the strong cooperation in the African Union.

We hope more efforts for unification and development.

Here in Brazil we say Axé because we received people from the Yoruba nation. But received people from Benin, Angola, and Congo too. They did not have a written language, which makes studying the past difficult.

Unfortunately, the only thing we know about our ancestors is the melamine on our skin. Since I live in Rio de Janeiro, this is a blessing! My friends with pink skin look like tomatoes during summer! LOL

I wish Africa the best. In Brazil we have the expression "mama Africa."

Better now, than never. Mozambique, Angola, Sao Tome e Principe (for me, this small country is the African equivalent of the Greek islands) and Cabo Verde are very young nations!

It will take time and effort. At least, they still have lots of natural and untouched resources that deserve care.

I have hear that Namibia has one of the worst hydric problems in the world. I could not imagine to live without water.

How about sustainable development in Africa? I am worried about preservation.

Africa needs ownership more than cooperation. Africa must own its future. Then, cooperation within Africa, and in actuation of the ownership, will help. Let’s talk resources. The main resource Africa needs is the brain. That resource is abundant but not engaged on the challenges of the continent at the owner level. That said, the world seems to worry too much about us. Or does it? Whichever, we will be fine. We will join the party of humanity.

The view is that African countries know technological cooperation at a slow pace lacking the actual embodiment between countries, especially in the field of training students in universities and institutes specialized in information technology.

The main issue in Africa is the artificial division of its population along state lines, non-reflective of historical or cultural ties across adjacent countries.

This issue however could be used positively as a stepping stone towards deeper - first regional and, later on, continent-wide cooperation.

Science, being mostly apolitical, is in an unique position to be the first area of such future cooperation. Technology would be the drive behind it.

Foreign investment in Africa is usually viewed negatively, as it creates pressures on policy-makers to concede access to resources in favor of foreign powers, but looking at it logically, without such investment, Africa will lag behind technologically and scientifically.

What policy-makers do with foreign investment inflows will make the difference.

Also, African scientists who are making careers abroad and are schooled in Western science and technology should be encouraged to retire into teaching/ policy-making positions in their country of origin, similar to the Japanese system of amakudari (天下り, translated as "descent from heaven") - the institutionalized practice of Japanese senior bureaucrats to retire from high-profile positions into advisory positions in the private and public sectors).

Such a practice, I believe, would make a big difference in bringing African countries and co-operation up to speed with modern science and technology.

This note sounds cool. Yes, it is artificial. Many be it African and other poor and messed up countries are far more endowed with natural resources than such wonderful most advanced countries like the one you mentioned Japan. The key problem that I feel is improper knowledge management and even purposely set systems to arrest bright minds, if any seen emerging to purge it out. Some countries even have purposely

designed their education system to send out their students abroad since politicians see them as potential threats if more knowledgeable people in the country.
