Hello All,
I'm going to do this experiments, taking 3 acre plot to plant Avocado and Areca nut along with the Leguminous plants.
Before i proceed with this experiments i would know is there any challenge or problem i face to get maximum yield.
I want to know Triangle shape helps more sunlight and Air circulation and also create bio-connectivity with the other plants.
Any idea or design accepted.

1. Improved soil aeration and physical condition
2. Enhances biological activity in the soil through better aeration
3. Controls weeds and thus reduces competition for light, nutrients and moisture
4. Eliminates or avoids alternate host for pest and diseases
5. Improves the infiltration of water through breaking the hard surface crust
Areca is planted at 2.7x2.7 m generally coca is the best intercrop but the light requirement of avocado need to be studied before taking up whether it is sun-loving or shade-loving. early stage of growth you can take any crop after 4 years it becomes difficult even for legumes also.
For taking intercrop in the orchard you are planning to do it is not mandatory to do it in a triangular shape. For penetration of radiation and circulation of air any shape you can keep. However the direction of planting and spacing is more important and this will depend on the location based on the curvature of the sun and maximum exposure of the area to the sun. Another thing which governs the technique adopted for the orchards like shaping, pruning etc etc......

Legume tree improve the soil fertility and allow sunlight to reach the under story cold as most of the legume plant have small canopy and open crown.
Planting trees in triangle (equilateral) pattern is important to allow for all trees to receive optimum sunlight. The longer distance between plants should be in east-west direction to avoid 'shadow effect'. If this is not followed, some of the plant are likely to cast shadow on the other plants (especially during periods of sunrise and sunset) and this could affect productivity. Just as Som Pal Singh said, it is also important to consider potential farm activities when designing your orchard.
Legumes play important role in BNF.
Triangle pattern of planting allows the maximum air and sunlight to enter into the plantation area.
Incorporation of leguminous plants in a field or garden the soil becomes fertile with the addition of nitrogen through nodules of the roots of legume plants.
Traingular planting system can be followed but time to time proper canopy management like training and pruning must be practiced. Wider crotch angle helps to optimum utilization of sunlight in this planting system.
Legumes specially cowpea, french bean, mung bean are best suited as these cover the soil quickly by their canopy growth and also prevents soil erosion besides adding atmospheric nitrogen to the soil.
