I am writing the final paper of my Ph.D. thesis.
My final contributions are related to each other; I wanted to express both of these contributions in one article. Still, the number of pages increased significantly, so I want to publish the article in two parts. The first part and the second part, do you think this is possible?
I wanted to know what the protocol for a two parts article is.
I would be happy if you could explain how to write an article in two separate parts.

None forbid you to refer to your prior published articles in your every new consecutive article as well. That preserves your study's genesis and hierarchy, and do not break publishing requirements.

I agree with the opinions that first you need to ensure that your academic organisation finds this acceptable and then you need to find a journal that is agreeable to your proposal.
My experience is that you eventually find a suitable journal but that often takes a long time.
I recommend you to publish your article in journals related to your especilast scopus journals where their are familar reviewers
I know this does not answer the question (sorry), but quite early in writing for publication, the editor requested an article but there was too much really for one article; I was so pleased when I was asked to make it into 2 parts!
In the days before I joined ResearchGate (around 2013 or maybe 2014), I didn't save any drafts that I could download to RG, so have to send the final published article. Hence, the 'private full text'.
