I tried before certain years to use IEEE802.15.4 with sensor boards such as Telosb, MicaZ to send video on real-time, but I faced many problems:

1) The low rate transceiver cannot send real-time video even if the resolution is very low; it can send with very slow motion

2) The distance is short not more than 20 m outdoor, 10 m indoor

My suggestion is to use any sensor boards that can use WiFi transceiver.

What is the format of the video signal what is its resolution? and how they are encoded? These two parameters define the common bit rate of the video signal.

I would like that you see the following table:

LD 240p 3G Mobile @ H.264 baseline profile 350 kbps (3 MB/minute) LD 360p 4G Mobile @ H.264 main profile 700 kbps (6 MB/minute) SD 480p WiFi @ H.264 main profile 1200 kbps (10 MB/minute) HD 720p @ H.264 high profile 2500 kbps (20 MB/minute) HD 1080p @ H.264 high profile 5000 kbps (35 MB/minute)

To transmit any of the above video format you must have available bandwidth.

It is better to use digital modulation. If your system is power limited that is powered by a battery then you have to use 4 QAM, therefore the needed bandwidth BW= fb/2 with fb the bit rate. If your system is not power limited you can use hogher order QAM such as 64 QAM with BW=fb/6

To further reduce the power you can use VHF of low frequency UHF of about 400 MHz. There is off the shelf transceivers working at this frequency and you can use a wide-band type of them to send your video signal. You can use also FSK modulation.

I think i outlined a possible design of the requested wireless transceivers.

You can use also the Gigahertz frequency but you may need to increases the gian of the antenna to reduce the required transmit power.
