I'm currently working on fatigue crack propagation in metal matrix composite. I've been facing some difficulties in establishing the results from the simulation. Problems are as follows
1. I'm unable to correlate the crack growth to the number of cycles
2. Unable to determine the stress intensity factor at the intermediate points during the propagation of the crack.
If someone can help me out to figure this out, it'll be beneficial for me.
I'm using XFEM for crack propagation.

ABAQUS does not provide a tool to quickly correlate the crack growth and the cycles, as well as it does not allow to compute the stress intensity factor over the cycles (as I understood). You have to post-process your results in order to get these parameters. For stress intensity factor if you use theoretical/empirical formulations (e.g., supplied by ASTM) you can process the ABAQUS results (e.g., crack length or control point displacement in the case of compact tension specimens (please, see my paper)), whereas for crack propagation curve (over time) you can process the distance functions PHI and PSI. They are nodal parameters that you can require. PHI and PSI are activated by the vicinity of the crack length. If they not have value, the crack is not in their vicinity, whereas if the have value, this value is the geometrical distance orthogonal to the crack legnth, or to the plane orthogonal to the crack tip end. I have specified maximum principal stress as damage criteria and for damage evolution I have chosen displacement at failure.
Simulation is running but I am not able to extract the crack length vs time.
