Hi. I'm trying to plot force- displacement graph for CFST column. In running my analysis its keeps incrementing after reaching yield point but it doesn't update XY data. I would expect the graph to converge, this are the changes i have made to my inp file for it to converge:
*Controls, analysis=discontinuous
*Print, contact=YES
I have attached the Force-Displacement graph below What am I doing wrong?

I was expecting the curve to drop after it reaches 2500KN, which isn't happening but it keeps in incrementing.

Then I misunderstood. I refer to yield point as the point where elastic to plastic transition takes place. I guess what you have in mind is the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) point.
Beyond the UTS point the force drops done as the load carrying capability of the material drops. This can be due to damage propagation. In order to capture this phenomenon, you should have an appropriate damage model implemented in your model.
Do you have that?

I haven't implemented damage model. I don't know how to implement it and I can't seem to find any instruction on how to implement it.
