Not only the acting work itself is a fantastic source of teachings, that may help the shyest, but also, in their relationship with the character, students may discover things about themselves. Discovering them in another language is about the best way to learn a language, which is always a kind of comedy. People may laugh at you, but if you dare to be on stage, they can't deny your existence. To enter a language, you have to enter the speaker's mind and try to imagine how he feels, the way he touches things, his lying manners, his linguistic addictions, etc. It's very similar to building a role. So I think this is an excellent pedagogic idea and you shouldn't be afraid to be the first.Your country still have so many scars you really need innovative education to drag students out of their nightmares.
