The USA military deployment on East European borders is necessitated by a longer term neglect of European defense preparedness. For example, as an Armor Officer I would note Germany and France each can field only about 240-250 MBT (Main Battle Tanks) that are combat ready. Russia has three times that amount along the Russo Ukrainian border, and twice that amount deployed on the territory of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions of Donbas, in addition to what is deployed in Crimea. The Russian MBT's are continuing offensive operations within Ukrainian territory, in spite of the continuing rhetoric of "Russian aggression" in support of separatists. The European Union has to address this immediately, with one possibility including the Ukrainian Armed Forces OB (Order of Battle), which includes over three times the MBT readiness of these two countries.

The European Union is a supranational organization that was founded in 1957 with the M to reconstruct Europe, in the wake of the Second World War and the following Cold War, this however was not the defining moment when the union itself came into existence. the European Union came into existence only in the 1990s, however is often said to be the by-product of American foreign policy, the term by-product here does not aim to demean the project however simply aims to explain the fact that the European Union has been heavily aided and supported in its formation by the United states it was under the Truman doctrine that stated a domino effect that the Marshall Plan was put into action, it created a unified western European union under the protection and support of the United states. most of these states were also members of the North Atlantic treaty organization popularly known as NATO. however, it is wrong to say that The United states uses Europe as its military proxy or intervenes in internal matters of the union, it can however peace said that, the union and USA often have a single goal or similar international goals. large nations such as Germany known as the powerhouse of Europe, and Switzerland for its monetary muscle, despite its small size compared to the US can pose an immediate challenge on the international stage 2 United States hegemony. the European Union also holds sway over, other regional organizations such as ASEAN, SAARC< BRICS etc, as it is the second largest contributor to the United nations budget, after The United states itself. further, the European Union is stronger as it holds the unity of the union above national interest therefore carrying with it a large chunk of nations, that are crucial when it comes to deciding votes at the United Nations Security council especially, where the EU, together holds 3 of the 5 veto votes. it has been stated in a number of official statements at multilateral and bilateral conferences and treaty signings that the United States and Europe have a long, fruitful friendship, with no animosity and mutual respect.
