Are the researchers doing enough to assist to the betterment of our society?
If the quantity of water purified is not enough, the large scale will not be appropriate, because the rentability will be less.
Researchers are doing the needful by providing valuable data often in difficult circumstances. Policymakers, research heads at institutions and to a large extent the government are to blame for the non-implementation of the recommendations put forward by researchers. It is my view that the focus has drifted to having more publications with little or no interest in considering the recommendations put forward. On the political side of view, some of the crucial positions particularly in developing economies are occupied by individuals without scientific skills and knowledge hence no efforts towards implementation of these recommendations.
