Dear @Aloysius, how come that you claim "A good researcher could be also an effective teacher"! Such assumption is not valid, it is not true for all good researchers. Teacher's job is a hard one, as research is. Effective teacher could be a good researcher, but not necessarilly! The only rule is that there is no rule.

My answer to this question is a big "YES".  An effective and a successful teacher will be a good researcher. In my opinion, a researcher should not be rated much in terms of his publications or findings. A good teacher will be the one who constantly strive for improving his teaching techniques and for acquiring new and relevant knowledge in his field. (Then only he can be a good teacher..!!!) So he will have enough advancements in the new developments of his field of interest and innovative teaching methodology.

Finding researching & teaching are capable to further strengthen knowledge contribution.  However, observe some teachers prefer to stay in teaching & less active in researching.  Also observe some good researchers not necessary deliver an interesting lecture.

1. An effective teacher can better understand the learning problems of their students and to solve these problems he may carry out an action research.

2. An effective teacher can better understand the problems of their profession, students' problems etc.

3. He may posses the quality of doing research.

A good researcher does not necessarily an effective teacher. An effective teacher must be a good researcher, because a good teacher must be good at language and speaking expression.
