I looking for work that takes a predominantly developing /under(semi)developed, etc. perspective in discussing socio-economic issues in countries in the "periphery" of Europe (South, East, less developed regions, etc). That is work that uses concepts, ideas, theories, methodologies, etc typically associated with less developed countries to approach issues in the "periphery" of Europe. I'm interested in either contemporary of historical analyses.

We used the core-periphery framework to study migrations from South Europe to core EU countries. There is some relevant literature:

Thanks, but I'm not clear what specific tools, theories etc you're using, that had been previously used only in the study of developing countries?
Well, it is an application of the dependency / World-systems theory which was originally formulated to study the relationship between North and South countries. These works I referee use this theory to identify core-periphery relationships between countries of the Global North.
What is the question? Is this not similar to the linkage between the colonized and now independent and yet to developed to still attached to the apron strings of the colonizer countries ? This could be historical

Several contributions compare development strategy in Latin American and Eastern Europe from historical and (near) contemporary perspectives). Some consider the extent to which counties of Latin America and Eastern Europe became 'laboratories' for policy models. Chapters written mainly by social scientists and historians. There is also a companion volume.
