An explanation of the RG score is given at: https://explore.researchgate.net/display/support/RG+Score

The items in an academic's RG profile include their published articles, unpublished research, projects, Reads, Recommendations, and Q&A.

Definition: The RG score is a computer-generated empirical weighted sum of these items, measured weekly.

Higher (lower) weights are given for interactions by an academic with all other academics who have higher (lower) RG scores.

As the profiles of all other academics are not given, it is not known if they have higher or lower RG scores.

Therefore, an academic's RG score can increase or decrease weekly.

Note: Citations and the h-index do not affect the RG score.
