I am working in a plant Achyranthes aspera subvariety for anticancer activity. I have doubt whether 70% methanolic extract will get oxidized during drying process. If so how to prevent it, is it fine if i add any antioxidant like ascorbic acid
The extract was filtered and dried but during filteration the green colour gets filtered through whatmaan filter paper and the remaining extract eluted in brown colour

I would suggest you to remove the methanol by rotary evaporator. For adding Vit-C, am not sure, but, If you add vitamin to the extract how will you differentiate the activity of the extract and vitamin.

Thank you for your reply, it is useful. Yes I used rotary evaporator to remove 70% methanol and got concentrated 15 ml of extract.
You are right, ascorbic acid may influence in activity and to get an idea on it I tired to go through the attached article but didnt get the full article .
