This year will be the 24th Annual Congress of the ECSS, which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from the 3 - 6 July, 2019.
That seems to be one of the biggest events in sports and exercise science in the world, being probably number one in Europe, and I was wondering what are your thoughts about this Congress. Have you ever been to the ECSS Congress and what was you experience?
I am planning to take part this year for the very first time, and I would like to know more about it.

I think this conference is a really excellent event.
I recommend to everyone who wants to keep contact personally with the famous researchers, who has the same research topics. There is a possibility to hear each other and after the presentation to give some useful advices and feedback to continue the research. Anyway I took part in Vienna, in Malmö, in Amsterdam, in Lausanne, in Salzburg and hopefully I will take part in Prague.

I have heard that there are around 3000 participants every year, so that must be the top event to take part in.

I've taken part a few years ago. It is indeed a large event with over 2000-3000 participants, and a good social program. It is certainly oriented for people in the 'hard' sciences, so if your topic is 'social sciences' related, you might feel a bit lonely.
I think if someone will take part on this scientific event, he/she will not be disappointed.
Zsolt Németh I hope so. I've just seen that I am accepted for the congress this year, so that will be my very first ECSS one :)

The traditional Bengt Saltin Run is a 5 kilometer memorial running event in honour of Professor Bengt Saltin, a founding member and Patron of the European College of Sport Science. The run is organised by the ECSS in cooperation with the Congress Host.
