Is it okay to flash-freeze cultured human neural progenitor cells and store at -80C for future RNA extraction?

I want to make sure that the freezing/thawing does not significantly affect the yield or quality of the extracted RNA. They would be frozen for at most a few months.

Can you incubate mouse NPC cells in a bead bath for a FISH assay?
