I need to measure the zeta-potential and/or surface charge on solid samples (e.g. polymer sheets, cements, &c.).  Most of the instruments and literature techniques involve colloids or suspensions, rather than solid samples.  While there are some instruments that would be useful, it would be cost prohibitive to purchase them.

Is there a simple and inexpensive measurement technique for determining zeta-potential and/or surface charge on solid samples?  Specifically, I'm interested in information on actual experimental set-up.
