Your paper may have been rejected due to having a very high similarity index score. Some of these similarities capture notations or even references you just can't change as you deem fit.
In light of this, how should editors use the score, they get from a similarity check, to access a paper.

Good responses from Soh and Ridha. Most anti-plagiarism software allow the option to 'switch off' direct quotation and citation lists. An author should check their report score 'after' these limiters have been set.

I believe that the best solution is reading the article and write the information by yourself not copy and paste to avoid the similarity.
