Your design must include exactly three adjacent loops (including a pseudo-loop if necessary). Use two to four main draw-off points per loop. Use four to six pipes per loop (pseudo-pipe counts as a pipe). Pipes do not need to be straight. Pipe sizes must be chosen that will ensure flow velocities range between 1 and 3 m/s. The supply points to the suburbs can be anywhere in the suburb. Your network must allow for the current South African average use of 218 litres/person per day, and it has been found (Van Schalkwyk, 1996) that the highest flow rate occurs when about 12% of this amount is used within 2 hours of the day (16:00 to 18:00).
