Fake impact factors are produced by companies not affiliated with Journal Citation Reports . These are often used by predatory publishers. Jeffrey Beall maintains a list of such misleading metrics
This is a list following Beall's approach, maybe with the same effort.

As Artur said, Jeffrey has resigned from working on that topic, at least officially. I have contributed to the original list. Seeing the level of harassment and threats he has experienced, I'd say that he was a danger to those publishing companies and the people behind it.
If you consider predators as your enemy, than their enemy should be your friend.
The original Beall's list web site (scholarly-oa.com) does not host the list anymore anyway.
I have recenly found a web site https://predatoryjournals.com/ which seems to build on it and expand this list (see https://predatoryjournals.com/about/ )

Yes absolutely. Very interested to see new sites are being curated to take forward the work of "Beall's List". Everything about the predatory journals industry is fake. I think, however, while Beall's list is an excellent tool to help identify predatory journals there are bigger questions to answer. To pose three: 1) How do we make people aware of the dangers of predatory journals, especially early career researchers 2) How do we stop predatory journals infecting reputable pay to view and Open Access journals 3) How do we identify and remove from the scholarly record the junk science and junk scholarship promulgated by predatory journals. The answers to these I think lie with government, academia and publishers acting to marginalise predatory publishers. BW Matt
@MichaelBrückner: It appeared to me that at some point there were rumors (?) that there was a commercial product by Cabell's International somehow based on Beall's list. Cabell's International indeed offered blacklist and whitelist as products on its site cabells.com which now, however, throws (at least at me) an error message "The service is unavailable." Do you know anything about that?
P.S. Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Beall#Website_removal ) does not look all too helpful in this respect.
@Artur Sergyeyev: todays visit /access to http://cabells.com/: after some seconds of "loading" screen displays
first rectangle:
"New Look
We brightened up our site for a more enjoyable experience." ==> ./. appearing second rectangle:
"New Search
We redesigned and reorganized your journal results to easily find the information you need." ==> ./. appearing third rectangle:
" New Metrics
We improved the CCI and added Altmetrics data to help you evaluate journals better." x
Clicking the x the effective website frame opens with:
"Forget the guesswork, get the data
Cabells is the complete source for journal info, evaluation metrics, and submission details-for universities of any size. Real impact starts with finding the right audience."
I have not digged further in the website (also division into BLACK LIST and WHITE LIST). Best regards, W.M.
So, academics have to pay for access a "secret" list of acceptable (white list) journals and unacceptable (black list) journals? This option by Cabell seems even worse than the lists by Beall which failed to show any clear criteria for any entry. Derek Pyne, Thomson Rivers University has (i.e., paid for) institutional access now.

No personal registration (for now) necessary, no hidden text, "OPEN ACCESS... (:-))" also with regard to most of Prof. Alexandre GEORGES' personal data etc.
One / you might follow their (Prof. Alexandre GEORGES and his team's) files and listingfor Predatory Journals and/or Publishers
(quote - "List of predatory, parasitic, or pseudoscientific publishers and journals" - end of quote) as mentioned at:
Journal that is in the beall's list that became SCOPUS indexed is something. It means that they took the challenge to improve as it was previously identified by Dr. Beall as probable predatory journal
I wonder, how could a B.A in Library Science be able to evaluate science and journals? I would recommend authors to read the published content of journals first. Do you find it nice and as per accepted standards? Then see the editorial board page of journal. Can you find reputed people there? Additionally, if you find that board memebrs have published their research in that journal, its fantastic. Submit your article to get a fortune.
You might have potent interest in advertising your service as indicated below.
BUT: IMHO, you don't have a reason to disqualify a person like Jeffrey Beall as you do because obviously you have NOT understood / don't want to understand what he wanted (starting +/- in 2013) to tell unexperienced AND uncertain scholars. I know a lot of librarians having knowledge about the sources researchers are in need and where they publish and naturally he knew about (or at least he was quite sure about the intended acquisition of money in a really short time) the practices of those "entrepreneurs" (sometimes "one man"-companies, sometimes several people with 'financial interest'....)
Yes, I understand, from the web I found you are affiliated with or own a company (?), SCHOLARS INDEX.com, 'Symbol of Professional Status'.
With a 'Verified email at scholarsindex.com',
http://t.co/X7tq95HYet. Jersey City, NJ.
it would be interesting to get knowledge on your real communication coordinates which MOST of RG-participants reveal to their "Peers".
Founded in 2018, ScholarsIndex.com is operated by entrepreneurs and research professionals. Being an online service, stakeholders of ScholarsIndex.com reside in different geographical locations.'
Why you don't follow your own regulations:
From your FAQ's @ http://scholarsindex.com/faq_p
"...2. Why I need to certify (self-declaration) that information provided in profile and its all sections is true and correct?
Ethically, you should provide true and correct information about yourself and your academic/professional achievements because Scholars Index profile works as your resume. In addition, your Scholars Index Value (SIV) is based on information you provided in profile. It is necessary to provide true and correct information in profile to keep SIV, PIF, CYPIF values true.
3. What address should I provide in my “personal information” form?
It depends on your choice. You may provide your company/institution address or residential address. Usually, personal information address reflects the address of your hometown.
4. What are endorsable interests/skills in personal information form?
Your academic/professional interests (like keywords in research article. Please put comma between multiple interests/skills in personal information form) or skills in which you have expertise are your endorsable interests. The people you worked with may endorse your interests/skill to strengthen your profile.
5. What education level contributes to SIV?
Ph.D, M.S, or M.Sc contribute to SIV. Please enter only abbreviations.
6. What types of research works are acceptable in my profile?
You can only enter “original articles” “review articles”, “case studies”, “conference papers” and “books/chapters” authored as your research works.
......."
So - IMHO- you might have become an entrepreneur and therefore you kindly are asked to state that also in your profile as this reflects a company "service" implemented in a similar fashion as compared to ResearchGate, but the latter presumably more successful than SCHOLARSINDEX.com, I guess.
Oh, not to forget: you are member of an Editorial Board too ...

Wolfgang H. Muss: I just mentioned what I felt and advised researchers to read the actual content published by any journal. What's wrong in it? What you want to prove by searching me on internet? Off course, being a research consultant, I have many affiliations with many companies. You mentioned my editorial board affiliation, then what? You mentioned my artilcle published in JMO, then what? What you wana prove here? Why you are pasting the FAQs for a social networking website? Don't become personal and behave professionally, please. This is site to make good friends, to have some good time. Enjoy reading other's comments and let others to enjoy yours. Thanks.
