1. what brix (or sugar concentration) is suitable for yeast culture medium? and
How much should this brix reach at the end of cultivation?
2. How much dry yeast should be added to the culture medium at the beginning of cultivation?
[First, I prepared 130 ml molasses with Brix 14 along with nutrients for the culture medium and waited for about 24 hours. Brix in aerobic environment decreased from 14 to 6.5. I added 130 ml to 1300 ml molasses with Brix 18 for ethanol fermentation, but the fermentation result was not the same as when I used instant and dry yeast. I always got a yield of 7.5 to 8 % (v/v), but now the yield of ethanol production is 5.5% (v/v)].
