When writting the results of the thesis do we need to consider only the % of responses represented by a majority for a particular question or is it ok to report % represented by a minority of respondents for that same question without indicating what majority represent?
As per my opinion, it depends on whether you are doing statistical analyses, in which case responses represented by a majority for a particular question usually improve the power of your tests (i.e., their ability to detect significant results). In addition, if you re trying to estimate a value in a broader population, then the accuracy of that estimate will also be improved with a majority of respondents.
One thing more, better to use % and number of responses both, often demanded by supervisers that come from a quantitative background so that to illustrate an argument or convey complex or detailed information in a coherent manner.

The Results section should set out your key experimental results, including any statistical analysis and whether or not the results of these are significant. You should cover any literature supporting your interpretation of significance.

If one does statistical analysis, one should focus on the percentage of responses represented by the majority for a particular question. It usually is related to the Accuracy in parameter estimation, i.e. the probability of avoiding a type II error and also to the statistically significant result. But I think, in some cases, percentage represented by a minority of respondents is also to be reported if one gets literature from secondary sources in support of his/her primary data. Fatemeh Khozaei beautifully explained how you will cover literature supporting your interpretation of significance.
Ajit Singh rightly pointed out that it is better to use both the number of responses and the percentage. In this case percentage should be given in parenthesis (brackets).

The results should be written in the past tense. The length of this chapter depends on how much data you collected and analyzed, but it should be written as concisely as possible. Only include results that are relevant to answering your research questions.
