Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding the components of osteogenic differentiation media:
I have used L-ascorbic acid + dexamethasone (only) without b-Glycerophosphate (b-Gly) based on this article (https://stemcellres.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/scrt328) that indicates that the use of b-Gly could result in false positive results. But I have noticed that a lot of publications used b-Gly in their osteogenic media.
I understand b-Gly is a source of phosphate but can anyone please give more details or refer me to resources that explain why b-Gly is not preferable? And the pros and cons of using it or not using it?
Many thanks,
