Model selection depends on the purpose of your model application. If you just want the calculated hydrograph, you can try our web-based rainfall-runoff model at

You can find a simple tutorial and some sample data to use the model. Please try it.

I fully agree that the model selection depends on the study aim. Furthermore, the model selection should be dependent on the hydroclimatological and geophysical characteristics of the study area (see the paper below). Thirdly, the data availability will be very important for the choice of a particular model.
Depending on the data available for your study area, you might reconsider the use of the Tank model and use a model with less parameters such as GR4J (see also the paper below; model with four parameters) requiring precipitation and potential evapotranspiration as input and observed discharge series for model calibration and validation.
