Hello Prof, the people in RG seldom interact on our QA, so allow me to answer this question. As I see it, uploading our papers/theses whether published or not on RG has the BENEFIT OF CREATING VISIBILITY for our work.
Some of us may not be able to afford to publish our theses on open access journals. Our article may be rejected by TR journal if the readership is not concerned about research of scholars in the Far East. But we have done our research ethically and honestly, so our results (positive or negative) should be shared. for the sake of science. Perhaps we obtained negative results, but other papers (maybe in OA journals that may not have been reviewed) reported a positive result. At least, other researchers have our paper to cite when it's needed. Actually all our research (published or not) is not for ourselves, but for the progress of science in a global village!
