I have a certain feeling that when a 'protest' candidate finally is running for white house, and his opponent belongs to the 'establishment', the 'protest' candidate might have a really good chance to win. Young voters (agreeing with Sanders) may for instance avoid voting, while those with sympathy for Trump will vote for Trump. Could this mechanism lead to (god forbid) a Trump victory?
