I need reflections from some very senior educationists who used this design approach in their universities. How did it work? Were there any barriers in its application? Was it really useful?
The CCAF Design Model drives instructional purpose and interactivity for each learning project we design and is implemented through our agile SAM Process.
Dear Ayesha, I have found that the successful application of the UDL principles can highly improve learner perceptions. Please, look for my paper for more details:
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): A Content Analysis of Peer-Reviewed Journal Papers from 2012 to 2015.
The only faced barrier in its application is the time required for preparing the learning content and evaluating participants' work. It is also very difficult to implement every checkpoint mentioned in the model guideline. Therefore, you can use the main concept of each principle and implement it, and try to cover as much as you can the most important checkpoints.
Thanks, ya I had a look at your paper, is a good one. Yes UDL proposes to address all diversity in how we learn. Please read the pun implied in my question. How we learn excluding major disorders can help us list styles. Still how much of it would be applicable to everyone and how much diversity to be catered can be successfully managed outlined by a standard blueprint. Does geography, race, ethnicity ,matter, so on and so forth, how successfully it can be implemented? were some of the offshoots that disturbed me.
